HFD-A: Rectangular fire damper. HFD-B: Rectangular smoke damper. The casing of the rectangular fire/smoke damper is manufactured from galvanized steel sheet without welding, providing high corrosion resistance. The blade is made from Ca₂SiO₄ (calcium silicate). Silicone-based fire-resistant seals are fitted around the blade. A concealed intumescent seal inside the casing expands under heat to maintain tightness at high temperatures. The blade shafts are made from free-cutting steel and zinc plated. The bushes are manufactured from brass. The compatible shaft and bush materials provide reliable operation for many years without lubrication. Motor linkage arms are made from galvanized steel sheet, while the linkage shafts are AISI 304 stainless steel. During a fire, the damper prevents flame and smoke from spreading to adjacent compartments. It has been tested for 132 minutes in accordance with EN 1366-2:2015 by ENAC-accredited Applus+ Laboratories and classified EI 120 (ve, ho i↔o) S according to EN 13501-3:2005+A1:2009. Available in sizes from 200 × 200 mm to 1300 × 800 mm. The blade is normally open during operation. Closing is provided by a spring-return actuator with a 24 V AC/DC or 230 V AC supply. The rectangular fire/smoke damper isolates other parts of the ventilation system from flame, smoke and heat if a fire occurs in one section. It can be installed with or against the airflow direction.
